The new Mayor of San Fulgencio is Carlos Ramirez of the
PP party. The PP party received the least number of votes
from ex-pats and other Europeans living in the
urbanisations (see below), yet they have eight newly elected
candidates (all Spanish), due to the votes they received from
Spanish voters. The PIPN party had one of
their candidates elected, Jeff Wisznieski, he received 208
votes in the La Marina Polling Station after running his
campaign on the premise “We will fight for equality and better
representation for people in the urbanisations”. The
question on everybody's lips is why he has joined in a
coalition government with the party that received the least
number of votes from ex-pats and other
Europeans living in the urbanisations - just 147
votes.
VOTES CAST BY EX-PATS IN THE SOCIAL CENTRE IN LA MARINA
URBANISATION ON MAY 22nd:
- APSFU – 508 votes
- PSOE – 239 votes
- PIPN – 208 votes
- PP – 147 votes
The independent multinational APSFU party had the
most ex-pats in their list of candidates for election, it was
this party that received the most ex-pat and other
European votes in the La Marina Polling station, a strong
indication from the urbanisations that they wanted more ex-pat
representation on the council.
Jeff Wiszniewski had the opportunity to join in a
coalition with the two multinational parties that has two
English councillors elected, both of them live in La Marina
urbanisation. History would have been made, with three
British governing councillors in a Town Hall in Spain for the first
time ever! Surely this was the best way to ensure “Equality
and better representation for people in the urbanisations”. Mr.
Wiszniewski is now the one and only Councillor for the
Urbanisations and he is the person to contact for any
matter that concerns people living in the
urbanisations.
