In
the San Fulgencio local election held on May 27th 2007 the
majority of the votes cast in the La Marina Social Centre where
shared between three political parties. The Progresso y Orden party
won two council seats this time. The two previous mayor’s
Mariano Marti and his APSFU party, which lost a council seat, he
won two seats this time, and the PSOE party,
leader Trinidad Martinez, who also lost a seat, down from four
to three. No one party was able to gain a majority in this election,
each party considered who they would ally with
in order to have the power of the majority in council votes.During
the last four years the PSOE, along with APSFU and two independent
councillors, including English councillor Mark Lewis, formed a
coaltion goverment.
